Lauren is originally from York, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Elizabethtown College in 2007 with a bachelor's degree in Music Education. She currently lives in Bel Air, Maryland and works as a music teacher for grades K-5 in Harford County, Maryland. She is currently attending Loyola College in Maryland to obtain a master's degree in school counseling. Her interests include teaching, singing, watching movies, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
Jeff was raised in Annapolis, Maryland on the banks of the Chesapeake Bay. He studied Digital Media at Drexel University in Philadelphia, with the intention of returning to his hometown after graduation. After developing a video program for The Philadelphia Inquirer and an Annapolis region magazine, he now serves as Marketing Creative Specialist for Netcordia, a software company based in Annapolis. His passions include family and friends, design, multimedia, and ultimate Frisbee.
On July 13, 2008, Lauren was working as a counselor at Elizabethtown College's summer music camp when she saw Jeff's online profile on a dating website. Thinking he was cute, she sent him a message.
Jeff had just recently returned from a post-graduation beach trip, and was still living with his parents while he looked for an apartment and tried to find a job. He had just become a member of the website at the urging of a friend, and decided to give Lauren a chance, even though she had short hair.
After talking online, and later, on the phone, Lauren and Jeff were excited to meet. For their first date, Jeff cooked dinner, and they enjoyed the bay views from downtown Annapolis. It was love at first sight.
Even though their first kiss was a disaster, their relationship quickly grew, and after meeting and loving each other's parents, engagement was inevitable.
On the morning of Friday, November 28, 2008, after spending Thanksgiving day with Lauren's family and asking for her parents' blessing, Jeff surprised Lauren with a diamond ring.
