About this section
Many areas of my professional life penetrate my personal activities. As a content developer, my eye for design and style remains focused even when I am not completing a work-related task. The arts encompass many of my endeavors, although I try to devote myself to as wide a range of areas as possible, and continually try to at least capture a taste of any new interesting field that I might encounter.
Blog
Read my Blog. With college classes monopolizing much of my time, I have had a lot of difficulty clearing my schedule to make updates to by blog, but feel free to check it out, and learn what I'm up to, or what industry issue is currently on my mind. I try to keep it primarily professional, writing on trends in interactivity, video, style, and more, all from the point-of-view of a multimedia developer.
Hobbies
In my spare time, I devote myself to a variety of activities. Find out about more about some of them below:
Ultimate Frisbee
Ever since I first played in high school, I have always enjoyed playing a game of pick-up Ultimate Frisbee. The game's rules are simple, and I always found the sport's easygoing atmosphere very appealing. Traditionally, my friends and I will normally meet at the park in the Pines on The Severn community, play for about an hour and a half, and then cool off with a plunge off the comunity pier into the Severn River. Barefoot Ultimate games are one of my favorite parts of the summer season.
Photography
Digital photography interests me because while it can be used to document the visual aspects of a moment, if carefully controlled, it can also be used to communicate the smells, tastes, feeling, sound, and light quality of the whole situation. Although most of my photography is informal, I like to try to bring an artistic element and objective to any informal documentary shots I take.
Custom clothing
Several years ago, when the a weathered, "screen print" look suddenly became the fashion statement of the moment, I realized I could create the same effect by hand painting designs and images onto "blank" shirts. I use acrylic paint, which creates a flaky, weathered look, and seems to be fairly colorfast and fade resistant. Because each piece is hand produced, each is a unique piece of art. The shirts I have produced have been very popular among my friends, and many people do not even realize at first that the shirts are a custom design.
